Record all measurements in this lab to the nearest tenth of a unit. Calculations are significant only to the same number of decimal places as measurements, so round off calculations to the nearest tenth unit. All answers must have proper units! A. Television or computer moniter 1. Choose either a television or computer monitor in your house. 2. Measure the diagonal length from the upper right corner to the lower left corner in inches. This is the maroon line in the diagram. How does this number compared to the size of the computer or television you bought? IN other words, when you buy a 42 inch TV, what does this “42 inches” represent? The diagonal length = _____________ 3. Convert the length to centimeters. Show your work. B. Mass and weight When you go to the doctor, most of the time, you have to step on the scale. The majority of the scales I have seen read in pounds, but some read in kilograms. Please note, you do not have to use your weight. You may get your kids, friends or other family members involved. For example, if your scale reads in pounds, convert to kilograms. If your scale reads in kilograms, convert to pounds. Note, this is a conversion from mass to weight and weight to mass.
